Ciudad Constitución, B.C.S.- It has been almost seven hours and still nothing is known of the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan from the Aereo Services Guerrero airline, which took off from Loreto with a destination of Ciudad Constitución.

According to witnesses accounts collected from ranchers in the area, they saw the airplane flying very low near Tembabichi, in the mountains between Loreto and Comondú.

A search perimeter has been established that covers the area of Agua Verde and Tembabichi, where direct communication is maintained with the municipal representatives and ranchers via radio, with no positive results at the moment.

What happened is that the poor weather is making it difficult for the search brigades to mobilize. They are comprised of elements of the 17th Motorized Calvary, the Federal Police, State and Ministerial Police, in addition to logistical support provided by Public Safety in Comondú.

The airplane, number XA-TXM, took off with 14 passengers aboard a little after 9AM today from the Loreto airport with a destination of Ciudad Constitución,where it would make a stop and then travel to Los Mochis

Still no sign of the aircraft. The search was called off at 5PM Tuesday due to poor visibility.

Loreto, B.C.S. - At 5PM today it was decided to cancel the overflights in the Sierra de la Giganta in search of the Grand Caravan from Aeroservicios Guerrero that disappeared yesterday morning.

This was decided due to the lack of visibility in the area due to clouds which have significantly cut down on visibility.

This is what the area of the crash looks like on a Sectional Chart. The aircraft would have had an Emergency Locator Transmitter on it, which sends a signal which is picked up by satellite when there is a crash. Also, surely some of the passengers had cell phones which would be pinging cell phone towers in the area and could be used to triangulate the location. The fact that the aircraft has not been found in such a small search area after two days of searching is very strange. One possible explanation is that the place crashed into the ocean and sank rapidly.

It's a presumed crash, correct? I don't see how their route could exceed 145. That's enough to catch a sea front. Anything further would would be counter productive. I'm also almost certain the bay areas there don't have the depth enough to prevent the ELT from being received.

Does anyone know who was on this flight? Their destination is infamous for ________. You fill in the blanks.

Loreto, B.C.S. - We are being notified at this time that the first Mexican army brigades have managed to reach the area where the Aereo Servicios Guerrero passenger airplane crashed. It is at the coordinates N26 7' 7"; W111 34' 83" and is 27 kilometers northwest of the Loreto International Airport, at the highest part of the Sierra de la Giganta.

[Fulano's comment: The LATLON given is impossible as there are only 60 seconds in a minute, there cannot be 83 seconds. It is probably 111 34'53" which places the crash site 27.4 kilometers northwest of the Loreto airport on a heading of 301 degrees. 301 degrees in the outbound heading of V42 out of Loreto. It is a low altitude VFR airway.]

Looks like the plane crashed in a pass beside the highest peak in the Sierra de la Giganta. The pilot was probably trying to sneak through under the clouds. There are no IFR routes in that area.
