Loreto is abandoned

I am not sure what is going on with this thread? Whoooosh's posts here and over on other boards have pretty much seemed straight forward and he has not done any self promotion for a business of his or one of his friends to line his pockets at someone else's expense.

I have not seen where he said it is safe in the area and he also shares what he does to reduce his own personal risk. Whether or not his safety program is a good one only time will tell.

I think Whoooosh is aware of the situation in his area and does not white wash it like most do that have found themselves in the same situation for one reason or another. Looks to me like the guy enjoys the area (more so when he first got there) is fully aware and does not like all the nasty shit going on now, BUT, has his family there and would like to continue living in the area with the family unit that he has. It may seem simple to some to just bail and get the hell out when the area turned to shit. I think it's a little more difficult than that. It's also his personal choice to stay for the time being.

If he were self promoting and/or claiming everything is safe that would be one thing, but he is not. I think he is fully aware of the ramifications of living where he is and is just doing the best he can.

yup, what he said.

I didn't join Nomads until after my kidnap attempt in 2006. I didn't move to Mexico to deal with whiny expats, but I wanted to document what happened to me and I found the website. I just post what happens around me. Things get better and then worse but everyone else in Mexico is going through it too. When my time comes it will come and you are correct- they will plan it out for years, will be successful, and it never ends for your family. The mother our our cousin who was beheaded says they still get extortion calls even after they killed him months ago. Every street corner has a falcon on it and everyone is watched by someone in Mexico, not just me. It's what they do down here. Having family down here just makes me blend in a little more and I've created the security I think I need. I worked in the casino industry- I know security and surveillance and layers of access. I do train everyone how to protect the house. But we are still vulnerable, everyone is.

btw: I do spend many months in Colorado every year so I can relax and in 1981 the CIA rejected me because of an "abhorrent lifestyle" that could subject me to blackmail. But that was in 1981. You really think there are CIA on Mexican message boards with Mexican families? You give the CIA that much credit?
BajaNoMas= News, Facts, Stats, Videos, Pics and Links- because presenting the truth to the public is not a negative campaign "Decir la verdad no es ninguna campaña negra".

Actually something along these lines would not surprise me. After all, it is our southern border. It would be a good part of a cover posting on different Mexico related boards. It would or could help show your just a regular guy etc. not to be suspected as some planted covert CIA guy. Ya just never know. Heck NOB the police, FBI and who knows who else is all over web boards farming for information and I'm sure in some cases initiating an identity that they want you to believe. That said I don't think there is a Spook on every corner. Big Grin

The NSA monitors internet chatter, as well as other countries. They sub-contract a lot of it out to Israel. There is no such thing as anonymity on the internet. They don't actually have people reading all the data packets, but they have software that filters for key words.

For sure they have a file on that maniac, but after careful review they put it in the housefly category, " He annoys people and eats shit."
