Major Pacific Storm to Bring Heavy Rainfall and Potential Flash Flooding to Southern California Friday through Saturday...

A major storm system will move in from the Pacific on Friday...bringing heavy rainfall and the potential of flash flooding to Southern California Friday through Saturday with the greatest impact period forecast to be Friday night.

AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF HIGH SURF IS EXPECTED FOR THE BEACHES OF SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY AS LARGE WESTERLY SWELL MOVES INTO THE AREA. IN ADDITION...THERE WILL BE A VERY LARGE AND CHOPPY SOUTH TO SOUTHEAST WIND SWELL THAT WILL ADD TO THE HAZARDOUS SEA CONDITIONS FRIDAY INTO FRIDAY NIGHT. THE LARGEST SURF IS EXPECTED SATURDAY INTO SATURDAY NIGHT...WHEN THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF SURF REACHING DAMAGING WARNING LEVELS.

HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 AM PST SUNDAY. SURF ON WEST FACING BEACHES WILL BUILD TO 6 TO 9 FEET  TODAY...THEN INCREASE TO 8 TO 13 FEET ON SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT BEFORE BEGINNING TO DIMINISH.
