ENSENADA - Armenian Hayk Rushanyan, 38 years old, was murdered with 9mm bullets. The textile businessman's body remained inside the Mercedes Benz 650 he was driving in the drive-through of Carl's Jr.

The possible motive of the crime, according to police sources who quoted the foreigner's employees, was the theft of 50,000 pesos (US$4,000), the amount of money the Armenian citizen had withdrawn earlier from a Banamex branch located on Reforma, between San Marcos and Delante.

Around 10:30AM, Rushanyan, whose business, Textiles Rushanyan, is located on avenida Topacio, between Plinta and Victoria, left the Carl's Jr. in his luxury automobile, with California license plates 6LET471, when he was attacked by gunfire.

Unofficial sources said that the Mercedes had bullet proofing, and that the first bullet impacts did not penetrate the window. In some manner, which has still not been determined, and according to the same unofficial sources, either the victim or the attackers opened the door and it was then he was murdered.

One of the photographs captured by El Mexicano, published in the Police Section, shows a plastic package laying on the ground after the attack, as of the moment the contents of the package have not been determined or if it is important to the investigation.

The attackers immediately fled and the Maxima they were in was found abandoned on avenida Ramírez Méndez, in front of the Teléfonos del Noroeste offices, just beside the old City Hall, which is now the Municipal Family Services building. One of the versions reports two attackers, each one in a car, and one car was left in front of the other.

The municipal police cordoned off the area, meanwhile Investigative Services started to list and collect evidence. At least two bullet impacts were visible on the driver's side window, and his body remained inside the automobile, laying on his right side.

In the same way, once the attackers automobile was found, investigators arrived to collect evidence to determine the identities of those responsible.

[Fulano's comment: When you drive a bullet proof car, it is always a good idea to lock the doors too. The reader's comments in the Mexican newspapers say the victim was a very nice person and well liked.]

Employees demand the arrest of murderers of Armenian

Justice and the rapid arrest of those responsible, is what is being demanded by employees of Textiles Rushanyan, after the murder of businessman Hayk Rushanyan, 38 years old, which happened last Friday morning.

Although they are continuing with their daily work, just as before the murder, personnel interviewed by El Vigía showed their consternation over the death of the foreigner, originally from Armenia.

The amount of money that was stolen that caused his death, does not compare to the human loss of the owner of the business located in the Valle Dorado subdivision, and his workers fear that the authorities will "sweep it under the carpet," just as with other murders.

"Hopefully they will catch those responsible for this unfortunate event, as he was a good man and a good employer, and he always worried about the welfare of his employees. Many foreigners come to Ensenada to provide work, and this is how they are repaid, it is unfair," said an insider on the social networks.

Businessmen call for precautions to avoid being a target of criminals

ENSENADA - I spite of the fact that police authorities operate more than 130 surveillance cameras, these mechanisms were not working during two fo the murders which occurred in the last few months in Ensenada, said the municipal police chief.

Enrique Villareal Montemayor described the murder of textile businessman Hayk Rushanyan as an "isolated incident."

"My view is that it is definitely an isolated incident.  I have been in the police department for four months, and this is the only event I can remember, and not only that, if I compare Ensenada with any other city in Baja California, we are significantly safe," he added.

While participating in the Ensenada Forum, led by Jorge Menchaca, the official called for the business sector to take precautions to avoid being the target of criminals.

About the functioning of the security cameras, he admitted that they have detected on average 20 in poor condition.

One of those is located on avenida Reforma, where the murder occurred.

If that dude would have driven a pizza car, and kept a low profile, he would be alive today.  The desperate, target the successful.

Look at what is happening in the USA. The people who killed this guy, more than likely knew of him through his business.

Not to mention he drove a car that was way out of place in Ensenada. The only way you can get away with that is if you are very well connected to one sort of cartel, or the goberment one.
