Cholos taking over Cabo San Lucas

Translated by Fulano from an article in Colectivo Pericú.

Cabo San Lucas, B.C.S.- The program directed at the gangs by mayor Antonio Agúndez Montaño, which was supposed to create a cease fire that was never respected, has failed and contrary to being respected, now violence has broken out and the members of the gangs have no respect for the police.

A month ago, families told Colectivo Pericú there was definitely no means other than having the Mexican army in the neighborhoods, where violence created by the cholos had been increasing. Saturday night there were battles in colonia Mesa Colorado.

Once again, as shown in the photograph, Saturday night at the Santa Lucia events hall, located beside the Isher furniture store in colonia El Caribe, a group of troublemakers tried to enter a quinceañera party.

They were denied access, and in revenge they threw rocks at the guests’ vehicles, damaging five windows.

In spite of the police presence, nobody was arrested. The victims don’t know who did the attacks and will have to pay the damages to their cars out of their own pockets.

In a message directed to Colectivo Pericú, they insist that the lack of security is in the Caribe, Tierra y Libertad, Leonardo Gastelum, Palmas, Mesa Colorada and Lomas del Sol neighborhoods, where the gangs control large areas and commit all kinds of crimes with impunity.

The family should be happy because their comatose daughter does not have cancer

Translated by Fulano from an article in BCSNoticias.

La Paz, Baja California Sur (BCS).- The family of Marlene Vinalay Abarca should be happy because their daughter does not have cancer, said the gynocologic oncologist from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Ricardo Alberto Ybarra Yee, after according to the patient’s parents, her ovaries and womb were surgically removed without first performing a biopsy, only doing so after the surgery. During Vinalay Abarca’s recovery she suffered a cerebral hypoxia which left her in a coma.

“We are confident, because as physicians we did all that we could, we did our work, we did everything based on the science, which is a diagnosis, which is a treatment and where unfortunately the patient has complications from her illness which has nothing do to with the diagnosis when we operated.

“Unfortunately we operated on her for a suspected cancer, it was not cancer, thank God. And I believe a person who is told in the end it was not cancer should be happy, and not sad, and should not be upset,” he said.

Julio César López Torres and María Concepción Abarca, parents of Marlene, insist that the hypoxia that left Marlene practically in a vegetative state was caused during a transfer inside the same hospital. This was after IMSS attendants who function as orderlies transported the patient from Intensive Care in the hospital without oxygen, which the patient’s husband, Héctor Francisco González Ortiz, witnessed, and which caused severe cerebral damage.

Without receiving any medical help, at least two persons joined to help her, until a nurse opened an adjacent door and she was brought into the emergency area, and moments later was declared dead.

Clinic members confirm that the reception manager asked Cortez Romero’s relatives why they had brought her to this installation and not to IMSS Clinic No. 8, and they replied that she as assigned to this Clinic No. 25.
