Vincent Willem van Gogh

Vincent Willem van Gogh (March 30, 1853 – July 29, 1890) the Dutch painter, spoke English, French and German, as well as Dutch. In fact, in his youth he worked in England for a few years.

During his lifetime, he produced more than 2,000 artworks, consisting of around 900 paintings and 1,100 drawings and sketches. While he lived, he only sold one painting, Red Vineyard At Arles.

In 1989 his Portrait of Joseph Roulin sold for $101.7 million.
