Turkey Day

Behind Fulano’s house. Yes, those are wild turkeys.

The Spanish for “Thanksgiving Day” is El Día de Acción de Gracias.. Mexico has many holidays, but no official Thanksgiving Day holiday. Many areas of Mexico have holidays to celebrate the harvest, usually centered around the patron saint of the region, which are more of a religious celebration. Turkeys are native to North America, including Mexico, and the Aztecs are known to have domesticated them. The generic Spanish word for turkey is pavo. However, the word pavo refers to several different species of large birds. For instance, the peacock is a pavo real. The specific Mexican word for turkey, like the ones the Pilgrims ate for Thanksgiving, is guajolote and comes from the Nahuatl language.

Thanksgiving At Fulano’s

The lonely, dysfunctional and perverse people who are opposed to Fulano tend to project their own miserable and perverted lives on others, thinking that everybody lives like them, drunk and unwanted. Notwithstanding Fulano’s detractors, who think he is a lonely, bitter old man with a computer, Fulano has a large family and we all gather at Fulano’s for Thanksgiving.
