Google Chrome is an internet browser software, like Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, or Firefox. Fulano has had Google Chrome loaded on his computer for more than a year, but never tried it out. It came in one day with an update for Google Toolbar, which is an Internet Explorer add-on tool. This week Fulano decided to try out Google Chrome.
What a revelation. Chrome runs so much faster than Internet Explorer. In order to make sure I wasn’t just imagining things, I loaded both IE8 and Chrome and put them side-by-side on the monitor. I alternated back and forth, clicking on the same bookmarks in each browser. There is no doubt about it, Google’s Chrome is faster. Much faster.
Google is currently working on an operating system, Chrome OS, to compete with Windows.
